Dr. Hugh G. Allen

Dr. Hugh G. Allen is a 1990 graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C. He completed a Dental Internship in General Practice at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York in July 1991. He then associated in private practices in Brooklyn, NY, Union and Trenton, NJ before moving his family to Miramar, Florida in September of 1996. Dr Allen has continued to excel in his field and his current practice has rapidly grown since opening on May 16, 2003. There are many factors that Dr. Allen attributes his success to. Foremost is the faith that when God places you in a position to do his work and you are obedient to that assignment, great things usually happen.

Dr. Allen and his staff provide individualized care, "Our patients feel like they are family. We truly care for our patients." Dr. Allen is great one on one, has excellent chairside manner and is a great listener. Patients are always complimenting on his touch. Not uncommon is the quote, " You're good with that needle, I didn't feel a thing."

Dr. Allen and his staff are committed to providing the highest quality care and actually make the dental experience "pleasant". To this end also, Dr. Allen has invested in the best of the latest technology to ensure his patients are getting the best possible care.

Dr. Allen has been married to his wife Novel for 14 years and they have a daughter Danielle. He is an active member of the Plantation Seventh Day Adventist Church. In his spare time, Dr. Allen is usually in the gym (LA Fitness), reading or watching TV (Sports or CNN). He is an avid Washington Redskins' fan.

Dr. Allen is active professionally. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the South Florida District Dental Association, the National Dental Association, the Dade County Dental Society (Treasurer for 4 years), the Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry and CERECdoctors.com. He has completed many Continuing Education courses with special emphasis in Cosmetic Dentistry and Occlusion. He has participated in many community health fairs and career days. He has given his time and talents/money to homeless ministries and to "fostering an interest in careers in dentistry" in young African-Americans.

Novel Allen MS, RD, LD - Office Manager

Novel is a Registered Dietitian by profession. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. She then continued to Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY where she completed a Master's Degree in Health Management. She brings a wealth of management experience to the practice.

She has great people skills. Patients comment on their experience with her on the telephone: "thorough, assertive, great people person, great follow through and follow up" are some of the superlatives our patients use to describe Novel.

Novel has been with Allen Dental full time since June 2006. She was previously employed as a Clinical Nutrition Manager at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach.

Her hobbies are hospitality/entertaining, shopping, traveling, reading and interior decorating.

She is a lifelong member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She is married and has a fourteen-year-old daughter, Danielle.

Simone Chin, RDA - Dental Assistant

Simone is a graduate of Concorde Dental Institute. She has been with Allen Dental since Day 1. Simone has a great personality for Dentistry. She loves people and is very compassionate and caring. Great team player and is always willing to go the extra mile for our patients. She is diligent about following up with patients after having treatment. She makes sure they are comfortable, and keeps Dr. Allen abreast of their needs.

Simone loves fine restaurants, shopping, traveling, " the outdoors" and BMWs. She is willing to try anything at least once. She has been skydiving and bungee jumping.

Diana Montoya, RDH - Dental Hygienist

Diana graduated from the Universidad de Antioquia in Columbia in 1997 as a Dentist. She migrated to the United States in 1999. She started working as a Dental Assistant in 2001, and sat and passed the Dental Hygiene Boards. She started working as a Dental Hygienist in 2003.

Diana joined Allen Dental in March 2009. She is a keeper. Our patients love her. She is pleasant, friendly, extroverted, a team player and best of all painless. Patients always say " Next time I come, I want her".

She lists her hobbies as - eating, dancing, traveling, and going to the beach. "My latest hobby is going to the spa ...... LOL. Referring to our office's quarterly trip to the spa.

Diana says, "I was born in Colombia, I have a nice family that I miss a lot. I have been in the USA for 10 years and have always worked in the dental field. I have a 3-year-old son, Nicholas, who is everything to me. I love to work and I love what I do; especially this dental office that I am working now.

Rodlyne Moise, RDH - Dental Hygienist

Rodlyne was born in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Broward College with a Dental Hygiene degree and was licensed in 2008. She has been in the dental field for 3 years. Rodlyne became interested in a career in Dentistry after an experience in a dental office where a lack of adequate patient education caused her some dental problems that could have been avoided. Her long-term goals see her becoming a dentist and teaching in this field. She loves to educate her patients and making them feel comfortable in our office.

Rodlyne lists as her hobbies "Hairdressing" which she does in her spare time. Otherwise she is spending time with her family and friends, relaxing or in church on a Sunday morning.
